Nineteen Sixty-Nine was quite a year: Concorde, the Fifty pence piece, Jumbo jets and, of course, a man on the moon. 20 years later, this momentous event was celebrated with this record, considered by many to be 'ahead of its time', but a minor hit in Norway regardless. Taking samples from original NASA transmissions, Frank Sinatra, the voice of Alec Guinness and dialogue excerpts from The Right Stuff, Apollo 11 showed the World what might have happened if Richard Strauss and William Shatner had ever created a lovechild - who then grew up to be a DJ. As John F Kennedy himself said on the extended mix: "...we choose to go to the moon - not because it is easy, but because it is hard" And look what happened to him. |
