This somewhat-disturbing composite image was used on the "about" box of PPMulator, a plug-in peak program meter for audio workstations, designed in conjunction with Julian Storer of Raw Material Software.

The image shows Philip Meehan (left) and Julian Storer calibrating their level meter in the Mojave desert - the idea being to record an actual atomic explosion, set this level to "maximum" on the meters, then all subsequent levels in PPMulator can be calculated by simply dividing down.

This is, of course, untrue. However, the image - a composite of about a dozen separate 2 and 3D elements - serves to illustrate this principle rather well.
